I decided to coat the outside using rubberized rockerguard. Turned out OK. The "cup" you see is a catch at the bottom of the tank, that's where the fuel pickup is. It gets wrapped with heater hose, and also has a drain so I can check it occasionally for water.

I welded 4 nuts to the car, the veggie tank bolts to these:
The tank drops in, then slides back. It was TIGHT going in... took 3-4 tries before I could get the hoses out of the way.
As a bonehead, I forgot to get a picture of it bolted in place. I'll snap some more pictures later!
